An Everlasting Meal: Cooking with Economy and Grace by Tamar Adler.  This book focuses on using simple ingredients and leftovers to create delicious meals, using humble items like bones, peels, and odds and ends to build flavor and reduce waste. Adler encourages home cooks to find inspiration and make satisfying food from whatever they have on hand.

Half Baked Harvest Every Day: Recipes for Balanced, Flexible, Feel-Good Meals by Tieghan Gerard - This book takes everyday recipes and elevates them just enough to make them feel gourmet.  The ingredients are obtainable, some of the recipes are offered with multiple cooking methods, and it’s easy to swap ingredients too!

How to Cook Everything: 2,000 Simple Recipes for Great Food by Mark Bittman - A comprehensive cookbook known for its minimalist style, clear instructions, and numerous variations, making it a definitive guide for home cooks of all levels. It focuses on fundamental techniques and provides a vast collection of straightforward, reliable recipes.
